Hey, I know this movie is really old and all that, but I couldn't control myself. The movie is fantastic and I am eagerly waiting for its sequel. I hope Ritesh and Tushar are there in part 2 as well coz they have amazing chemistry like Shah Rukh and Saif in Kal Ho Na Ho. Here's a synopsis. Karan (Ritesh Deshmukh) and Rahul (Tushar Kapoor) are college friends who live in a rented apartment building. When they are unable to pay the rent, they are thrown out, but sneak their way back in from the other side of the building within hours as the building is being renovated from that side. Karan meets a beautiful woman, Kiran (Bobby Darling!!!!), and falls in love with her. He finds out that she is the girlfriend of his boss, D.K. Bose and lives in a bungalow in Malabar Hill. When Bose leaves for a business trip to America, Karan and Rahul move into his apartment and through his telephone Karan touches base with Kiran and begins his romance with her. In the meantime, Rahul is told by a street astrologer that he will find his soul-mate in a girl who has a birthmark on her right breast. Rahul does not find one but several women with a mark on their breast, and does recover from several embarrassing incidents. Then beautiful Urmila Martodkar (Isha Koppikar) walks into his life with a birthmark and all. It looks like Karan and Rahul may have finally found their soul-mates - but nothing is as it seems. What Karan does not know is that Kiran is not a girl, but is a gay boy trying to be a girl and Kiran's sister Rekha tries to woo him away from her to make him realise the truth. What Rahul does not know is that gorgeous Urmila is a Police inspector who is working undercover trying to apprehend a serial killer of women and Rahul is the prime suspect. Now for the performances:
Ritesh Deshmukh: He is good, but not EXCELLENT. He does come across masculine, unlike in his other films like Masti and Heyy Babyy. Thank God for that. I am sick of seeing the feminine side of him all the time.
Tushar Kapoor: He has always been a good actor and he is very good in this film too. Tushar comes across as a cute (in terms of behavior, not looks!), innocent guy. I think he gels well with Isha Koppikar. Looking forward to seeing them together in some movie in the future.
Isha Koppikar: She has already proven to us that she can act in Girlfriend. Therefore, there are no doubts about her acting ability. She is good in this film, but she could have done better. She tends to overact in a few places, but that's okay.
Neha Dhupia: She was never capable of acting before also (I am referring to Julie here). So, I am not disappointed by her pathetic acting in this movie. Actually she is not that bad, but she is not good either.
Bobby Darling: He always leaves a smile in your face whenever he appears on screen. He has a flair for comedy. Keep up the good work Bobby!!
Anupam Kher: I can't believe he agreed to be part of this film. It doesn't seem like this type at all. Anyways, I am glad he is part of this film coz he is funny. However, he tends to overact quite alot and can get on your nerves.
